If the master's thesis is written at the GPV department, attendance of the research colloquium of the GPV department during two semesters (without ECTS award) is additionally required.
In the research colloquium, ongoing master's theses of the GPV department are presented and discussed. The master students learn to justify their questions, hypotheses and the methodological procedure of their master thesis in a comprehensible way as well as to interpret their results stringently. The students receive feedback on the current status of their master's thesis from their fellow students and the staff of the department in order to further improve their master's thesis. Furthermore, open questions on the part of the participants are clarified (e.g. regarding methods of analysis). Overall, the participants sharpen their thematic and methodological knowledge and learn to evaluate other research projects constructively and critically.
